OC assault manslaughter charges dropped

The Worcester County State’s Attorney’s office has confirmed that the charges of manslaughter have been dropped against two suspects for the death of Justin Cancelliere, 37, of North Whitehall, Pa.

Christopher Kendall, 22, of Ocean City, Md., and Caleb Ochse, 27, also of Ocean City, Md.,  pleaded guilty in court Wednesday. The two were charged with the common law offense of affray in lieu of manslaughter charges being dropped.

Officials from the State’s Attorneys office say a plea deal guaranteed a maximum jail sentence of 18 months for Osche, and 12 months for Kendall.  A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled. A pre-sentencing trial will determine when that date will be.
