Here are the Teachers who Make a Difference
January
Gary Perkins
Mr. Perkins is always making learning fun, like when him and Mrs. Perkins wore a whole colonial outfit just because we were starting our colonial unit. He plans fun trips like ice skating around the christmas tree in DC and walking down the cherry blossoms. and even going to New York City. He's retiring this year and i know that winning Teacher of the Month would make him smile.
December
Diane Widman
Ms. Widman shows a lot of care and concern for each and everyone of students. She starts her day off early every morning and works with students and lesson plans well into every evening. She spends 1:1 time with children to assist them with homework, getting their notebooks together and just going above and beyond her duties. She has helped my son to excel in math this year and has spend many days working 1:1 with him to make sure that he stays on task and gets good grades. She always gives the kids a chance and shows them that they CAN do math. She helps them to not depend on caluculators and always has something positive to say!
NOVEMBER
Chelsea Berrie
Miss Berrie is a phenominal science teacher. She is in her 1st year teaching & puts forth 110% effort into making science hands on, fun & exciting. She will stay after school on any day to help students who are struggling or want to do more fun science activities. In aadditin she co-teaches a language arts enrichment class to below level students in hopes of helping them pass Maryland state assessments.
OCTOBER
Kari Lleras
She is a hardworking devoted Teacher that makes every effort to ensure that her children succeed and have the tools necessary to be great at whatever they do. Her students and parents love her. She comes up with fun ideas to encourage learning, for example she has an old fashioned bath tub with pillows in her classroom that students can use to sit and read as an incentive.
SEPTEMBER
Kaimais Love
Due to Miss. Love's teaching skill and diligence in the classroom, My son Braxton scored a score on his state wide test that made him ineligible to participate in the stars after-school program. Which is a positive move. She made progress w/ children and it showed in their work and ability to progress and/or be placed w/ in their correct grade. I feel as though she should be recognized for her hard work and continuous effort.
