DOVER, Del. - Authorities in Delaware are searching for an inmate who reportedly failed to return from an authorized pass.

The Delaware Department of Correction says on Sunday, 31-year-old John Clendaniel, of Dover, didn't come back to the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover, after being permitted to leave. MCCC is a level 4 facility in which offenders are allowed to leave the facility to go to work, look for jobs, or attend treatment sessions, while transitioning back into the community.

Clendaniel is described as a white male, 6' tall, weighting 170 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Clendaniel also apparently has tattoos on both of his hands, along with his arms, back, and chest. He was serving time for a violation of probation on an original charge of burglary 3rd degree.

Anyone with information about Clendaniel's whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-542-9524 or the local police department.
