Two Arrested During Convenience Store Sweep In Sussex County

SUSSEX CO., Md. - Police say an investigation into several Sussex County convenience stores, lead to several arrests for prescription drugs. Department of Safety and Homeland Security's Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement says they have wrapped up a month long investigation after receiving information that several places were illegally selling prescription type drugs.

DATE say they had assistance from Delaware State Police, Delaware Department of State Division of Professional Regulation, Delaware Probation and Parole and Milton Police Department. That investigation lead to the search of several Selbyville and Frankford convenience stores. According to the report, La Sierra on West Church Street in Selbyville, Danny's Pizzeria on N. Main Street in Selbyville, and Taco Town on DuPont Boulevard in Frankford were all searched. Those searches apparently lead to the seizure of prescription type drugs and substances, along with over 500 bootleg DVDs, and $88,000 in cash.

At La Sierra, 35-year-old Oscar Jimenez, of Ocean City, Maryland, was arrested, and charged with operate a pharmacy without a license, delivery of a non-controlled prescription medication, delivery of a hypodermic syringe, and trademark counterfeiting. At Taco Town, 31-year-old Isela Delgado, of Ocean City, Maryland, was arrested and charged with operate a pharmacy without a license, delivery of a non-controlled prescription medication, and delivery of a hypodermic syringe. Both were given unsecured bail.

The investigation into Danny's Pizzeria is reportedly still on-going.
