One Injured In Motorcycle Crash In Fruitland

FRUITLAND, Md. - Police are looking for witnesses after a crash in Fruitland involving a car and a motorcycle. Fruitland Police say on Sunday, around 5:15 PM, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at E. Cedar Lane and St. Lukes Road.

Police say the motorcycle rider was trapped under the car, but Officers, EMS, and witnesses were able to get the vehicle off the person, and start CPR. According to the report, the rider was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, before being transferred to The University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where they are currently in critical condition. Fruitland Police say the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office is helping with the reconstruction part of the investigation.

Fruitland PD says they would like to thank the citizens who stopped at the crash scene to help, and are asking any other witnesses to contact them at 410-548-2803. Police say they aren't sure yet if drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash, but charges are apparently pending.
