UPDATE: Nottingham Sentenced To 7 Years For OC Bar Death

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The man convicted for killing his friend during a fight outside an Ocean City bar last January, will face 7 years in prison.

Worcester County prosecutors tell 47 ABC, George Nottingham was sentenced on a manslaughter charge, because of how 40-year-old Michael Post died.

Technically, it was a 2nd degree assault, or a fight between the two, that resulted in a death. This was apparently the maximum sentence Nottingham could receive.

His initial trial last year ended with a mistrial, because the jury couldn't come to a decision. Nottingham was convicted in June on a misdemeanor manslaughter charge for reportedly fighting Post outside the Harbor Inn Bar on January 26th, 2013.
