Brown And Hogan Discuss Working With Counties

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Democratic Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Republican Larry Hogan are talking about how they would work with counties, if elected governor.

Brown and Hogan spoke Saturday at the summer conference of the Maryland Association of Counties in Ocean City. They appeared separately on stage to take several questions that were given to a moderator.

Hogan says he would be committed to restoring the roughly $350 million a year for local highway user funds that has been tapped by the state in recent years to help balance the budget. Brown says he would work with counties to develop a new formula to restore funding.

Hogan says he would work to ease the state's tax burden to attract businesses. Brown says he would create more jobs by building infrastructure.
