Vitamin D Linked To Alzheimer's and Dementia?

Posted: Updated:

SEAFORD, Del.- A new study is showing a link between Vitamin D and Alzheimer's and Dementia.

People with a moderate deficiency of Vitamin D showed an increase risk by about 53%, and those who had a severe deficiency, had about a 125% increase risk of having the disease.

However, local doctors told us not to go stocking your shelves with Vitamin D just yet, there's more to this study.

Neurologist Dr. Bruce Dopler says, "There's an association between vitamin d deficiency and having Dementia it did not say that if you have vitamin d deficiency that it causes Dementia."

The only thing Vitamin D has been proven to help is brittle bones.
