Teens Banned From Using DE Tanning Facilities

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - It's indoor sunlight getting the attention in Delaware: say goodbye to minors using tanning facilities in the First State.

Gov. Jack Markell signed the bill on Monday banning those under the age of 18 from using tanning beds, regardless of parental permission. The bill passed the general assembly this year aiming to reduce the risk for melanoma among teens.

Businesses will also need to put up signs warning of the dangers of tanning.

The law goes into effect in January.
