Two Charged After Vehicle Pursuit In Dover

DOVER, Del. - Police in Dover say they arrested two people, after being led on a high speed pursuit. The City of Dover Police Department say on Tuesday, around 7:25 PM, their Drugs Vice and Organized Crime Unit, along with the Delaware State Police tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. According to the report, the driver sped up, traveling at a high rate of speed away from officers, nearly hitting a Dover Police Officer.

As the vehicle continued away, the passenger apparently threw a plastic bag with a white rock like substance, out the window. Later tests revealed that the white rock was crack cocaine. After the pursuit, the driver, 21-year-old Anthony Rollins, of Milford, and his passenger, 22-year-old Agmere Matthews, of Dover, were both arrested.

Rollins was charged with reckless endangering 1st degree, disregarding a Police Officer signal, reckless driving, driving without a license, unreasonable speed, and driving while suspended or revoked. Matthews was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation. Both are being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, on bond.
