UPDATE: One Arrested For Two Vienna Bank Robberies

Posted: Updated:

VIENNA, Md. - A Delaware man is behind bars, after he was apparently connected to three Eastern Shore bank robberies.

The Maryland State Police say through a joint investigation with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, Salisbury City Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation led to the arrest of 43-year-old Miles Charles, of Laurel, Delaware, in Harford County.

That joint investigation has linked Charles to the armed robbery of the Bank of Delmarva in Salisbury, in March, along with two at the Hebron Savings Bank in Vienna, in April and June. Police say in all three instances Charles went into the banks with a handgun, pointed it at an employee, and demanded cash.

Charles has been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, theft between $10,000 and $100,000, use of a firearm in a violent felony, and illegal possession of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Harford County Detention Center, with charges from other jurisdictions pending.

Anyone with additional information about either of the bank robberies is asked to contact investigators TIPS LINE at 410-819-4786.
