UPDATE: Shooting In Bivalve Ruled Self Inflicted

BIVALVE, Md. - An afternoon shooting in Bivalve has been ruled as self inflicted. On Monday afternoon around 1:40 PM, Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 21000 Block of Nanticoke Road.

23-year-old Cory Long was rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, in serious condition, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say Long told them that he had been shot by a person leaving his home. Early in the investigation, K-9 Officers searched the area, looking for a suspect.

According to Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis, an investigation showed that the wound was self inflicted. The Wicomico States Attorney's Office will be reviewing the case, to determine if charges should be filed in the incident.
