Georgetown Man Accused Of Identity Theft

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Police have arrested a Georgetown man, after he reportedly forged stolen checks.

Georgetown Police say on July 13th, at 11:00 AM, they were contacted by a 53-year-old man, who told them that 37-year-old Gary Palverento had stolen checks from him, and forged them.

An investigation showed that Palverento had written and signed the victim's name on two checks, that had been taken from the victim. Police say both checks were made payable to Palverento, and cashed at the M&T Bank in Millsboro.

Palverento was charged with identity theft, and theft, and is being held at the Sussex Correction Institute on $6,000 bond, while awaiting future court appearances.
