On The Lookout: Burglaries Continue In East, South Wicomico

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Home break-ins continue to be problematic for parts of Wicomico County.

In June, 47 ABC reported on dozens of daytime burglaries in the East and South ends of the county. Now, investigators at WBI say it's only increasing and spreading out sporadically throughout the county.

Jewelry appears to be the target by thieves.

"Unfortunately, most often times, burglary happens daytime," said Sgt. David Owens. "Folks leave, go to work, spend the day away from their home and come home to this catastrophe."

Owens advises residents to take pictures of all valuables, such as jewelry and electronics. More importantly, he adds, if you see something suspicious, call police to give them a chance of making an arrest.
