Dover PD ID Body Found In 2012

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - A two-year search to identify a body found in Dover is over.

Dover Police say they found a match, identifying the man as Ian Withrow. According to police, Withrow's family came to the department on Saturday after recognizing 3-D recognition and his tattoos.

A forensic artist constructed the models that were released on July 1st.

Withrow's body was found in November 2012 after police say they found the dead man in a wooded area by a Dover Sam's Club. Aside from the decomposed body, all they really knew was what he was wearing: a white T shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Withrow had no ID on him, which prompted the Department of Health and Social Services to release 3-D facial reconstruction of the man, now believed to be Withrow.
