LEWES, Del. - Police say technology, and ice cream, lead to the arrest of a Rehoboth Beach man, after he reportedly burglarized a home.

Delaware State Police say around 10:50 PM on Monday, Troopers responded to a tripped burglar alarm in the Taramino Place Apartments in Lewes. Once on scene, Police say they found 47-year-old Richard Walls, getting into his black Pontiac Sunfire, that was parked in a dark corner of the lot. Troopers reportedly stopped Walls as he was backing out of the spot, and found a flat screen TV, a cable box, and controllers in the passenger seat.

Police say in the suspect also had a frozen vanilla fudge drumstick ice cream treat in the center console. One of the victims confirmed to Police that it had been taken from their freezer, along with the electronics. Police say numerous other apartments were slightly damaged by pry marks to the back doors, but Walls hadn't made it inside to any others.

Walls was arrested, and charged with burglary 2nd degree, 4 counts of attempted burglary 2nd degree, possession of burglary tools, theft under $1,500, and 5 counts of criminal mischief. He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $34,500 cash bond.
