Dover Bridge Maintenance Expected To Delay Drivers July 21st

Posted: Updated:

TALBOT CO., Md. - Drivers who take the Dover Bridge, which connects Talbot County to Caroline County, should plan a little extra time in their commute on Monday.

The State Highway Administration says on July 21st, they will have crews out doing some maintenance on the structure. This work will require short-term openings of the bridge, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The closures are expected to last from five to 15 minutes.

The routine maintenance will reportedly include greasing the bridge locks, testing the opening and closing of the bridge swing span, raising and lowering the traffic gates, checking  traffic and navigational lights and checking hydraulic oil levels for bridge motors.

If the weather is bad, the work will be rescheduled. Anyone with questions about the project may contact the SHA District 2 Office at 1-800-637-9740.
