Troopers Investigate Armed Robbery Of Claymont Gas Station

CLAYMONT, Del. - Delaware State Police say they are investigating the armed robbery of a BP Gas Station which occurred late yesterday afternoon in Claymont.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday, July 11th at approximately 5:20 PM as a male suspect with a dark shirt wrapped around his head and armed with a knife, entered the BP Gas Station located at 3421 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. The suspect reportedly approached the 30-year-old male employee, displayed a knife and demanded money. Police say the employee complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect reportedly fled the business on foot, and there were no injuries as a result of this incident.

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years of age, 5'10"-6'0" tall, with a thin build. The suspect was reportedly last seen wearing a dark shirt, green shorts, and a dark shirt covering his face to disguise his identity, and armed with a knife.

Troopers say they are continuing to investigate this incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 Extension #6 or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
