Famous "Chef Boyardee" Home Up For Auction

Posted: Updated:

QUEENSTOWN, Md. - It's a childhood favorite for many: canned ravioli and Beefaroni.

And as the saying goes, thank goodness for Chef Boyardee. But did you know the real-life creator of the product -- built a home on the Eastern Shore?
Ettore Boiardi built a home for his son in Queenstown back in 1989 and it will now go to the highest bidder.

It's known as the Penderyn Estate, an 18-acre property sitting on the Wye River.

47 ABC toured the home Friday a week before the house goes up for auction.

"This is a very well-known property, this is a very-well known home," said Carol Snyder, vice president of business development at DeCaro Luxury Real Estate Auctions. "The Boiardi Family built it back in the 1980s and it's a property unlike anything else in this general market area."

Snyder says there are two open houses left to view the property, this Saturday and Sunday at 1PM to 4PM, and a final preview day next Friday before the auction.

Registration for the auction begins next Saturday at 9 A-M with the actual auction at 11.
