OCEAN CITY, Md. - A Philadelphia man is now facing multiple charges after fleeing from police earlier this week.

Back on Monday, Ocean City Police reportedly pulled over a car on Philadelphia Avenue for a seat belt violation and an expired registration plate. Police say the driver gave them false ID information and claimed he did not have a valid drivers license. When he was asked to get out of the vehicle, the subject reportedly fled the scene on foot.

This sparked an extensive search of the area for the driver later identified as Weldon Lucas, 38. During an investigation, it was revealed Lucas had a suspended driver's license and multiple warrants out for his arrest from the Philadelphia PD.

Reports say Lucas was eventually located Monday night in the area of 82nd Street. Authorities say Lucas burglarized a condo after he fled from police and stole a bicycle and clothing items to disguise himself.

Lucas has been charged with multiple burglary and theft charges in addition to various traffic violations.
