Officials Respond To Garage Fire In Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury Fire Department responded to a vacant garage fire on Elizabeth street Tuesday afternoon.

The call came in around 5pm with heavy flames coming out of a vacant masonary garage filled with furnishings.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and damages are estimated between $15,000-20,000.

While there were no injuries, Assistant Fire chief Bryan Records says- the weather takes a toll on his team.

"We are having to hydrate our people and rotate them a lot more with the tempuratures now near 100 degrees in humidty so really all in all the humidity is our biggest challenge right now," said Assistant Fire Chief, Bryan Records.
