Posted: Updated:

SEAFORD, Del. - Officials in Delaware are looking for an inmate who apparently never returned from an authorized pass.

The Delaware Department of Correction says 21-year-old Michael Washington, of Seaford, never came back, after he was allowed to leave the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover, on a temporary pass, on Monday. DOC says offenders who are transitioning back into the community are often permitted to leave level 4 facilities like Morris, to go to work, look for jobs, or attend treatment sessions. These centers are not secured like Level 5 prisons.

Washington is described as a black male, 5' 6" tall, weighting 145 pounds, with brown eyes, and black hair. He reportedly has a mustache and goatee, and tattoos on his chest and right arm. He was behind bars on a violation of probation on an original charges of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Officials are asking anyone with information about Washington's whereabouts to call 1-800-542-9524 or your local police department.
