Delmarva Education Foundation To Close During Restructuring

Posted: Updated:

DELMARVA - After 15 years of service, a local non-profit will be closing its doors, for a restructuring period.

On Tuesday, the Delmarva Education Foundation announced that after their executive director resigned, the board of directors made the decision that it was time to look at how they could restructure the organization to better serve those in need of their services.

Starting on July 31st, DEF will become inactive, and will no longer provide its current services and programs, including one-on-one meetings with students, and presentations in the schools or at community events. The DEF office in Salisbury will be closed, and the remaining staff will be laid off.

The board says they hope to return with a restructured, and stronger, organization to assist students in finding a way to pay for college.
