OC Boycott Appears Unsuccessful Over Holiday Weekend

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Despite the threats, it appears that so far, an Ocean City boycott has been unsuccessful.

Ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray urged residents to stay away from the Eastern Shore. His comments come after Representative Andy Harris, who represents the shore, successfully advocated to overturn Washington D.C.'s marijuana decriminalization law.

Ocean City councilman Brent Ashley tells 47 ABC, the resort town "could not fit more people this Fourth of July weekend than they did." He says that moving forward, he does not see the boycott having any impact.
