Cause Of Fruitland Auto Shop Fire Under Investigation

FRUITLAND, Md. - Officials say they are currently investigating what caused a fire inside of a car collision shop in Fruitland.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says the blaze started around 6:25 PM on Thursday, inside of Campbell's Collision on South Division Street. Officials say the fire, which was discovered by the business owner, started in a trash can in the paint closet, of the one story masonry auto repair shop.

It took five Fruitland fire department firefighter, 10 minutes to control. Damages to the building are estimate at $100, while the estimated loss of contents is set at $10,000. No injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal's Office says they are still investigating just what caused the blaze.
