Salisbury Police Warning Drivers Of Firework Traffic

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury Police are advising of roads that will be closed, because of the Independence Day celebrations. Starting at 8:30 PM on July 4th, many roadways will be closed until after the fireworks wrap up.

-  W. College Avenue eastbound at Tower Drive
-  W. College Avenue westbound at Roger Street
-  Avery Street at Wayne Street
-  S. Division Street northbound at Onley Road
-  S. Division Street southbound at Carrolton Avenue
-  John Street at W. College Avenue
-  Marian Street at W. College Avenue

These areas are anticipated to have lots of traffic, and pedestrians.

Those attending the event can park in the Salisbury University parking garage, or at James M. Bennett High School. Once the fireworks are over, drivers will only be permitted to make right turns, to help ease the traffic congestion.

Police are asking all drivers to stay alert, and use extreme caution when traveling through the area around the event.
