Delaware Nurse's License Pulled After Drug Charges

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware officials have ordered the temporary suspension of a Wilmington woman's nursing license following her arrest on misdemeanor drug charges.
    
Authorities said Thursday that the license of Andrea M. Nopper was suspended pending a hearing to be held within the next 60 days.
    
According to the suspension order, Nopper was charged in May with possession or consumption of a prescription drug, possession or control of a counterfeit substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and offensive touching after admitting to police that she had been using heroin and cocaine intravenously.
    
A recent revision to state law allows the temporary suspension of a professional license if the secretary of state and chair of the licensing board agree that the activity of the licensee presents a clear and immediate danger to the public health.
