UPDATE: Antares Launch Set For July 11th

Posted: Updated:

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - A launch date has officially been set, for a rocket headed from the Eastern Shore, to the International Space Station.

Orbital Sciences says they are planning to launch the Antares rocket from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on July 11 at approximately 1:40 PM. This will be the second operational mission that will resupply the ISS.

The launch has been delayed on several occasions after a AJ26 engine failed during a test at the Stennis Space Center. That team has reportedly recommended certain inspections to be performed on the AJ26 engines that are currently integrated on the Antares rocket.

NASA Television coverage of the launch will begin at 1:00 PM.
