River's Edge Apartment Complex On Schedule To Open In December

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - It's been about six months since breaking ground for The River's Edge Apartments and Studio for the Arts complex, and we're told it's right on schedule to open its doors by December.

Progress was being made at the site Wednesday, where three brand new buildings are going up, featuring 90 apartments, studio space and a theatre room geared towards local artists. The affordable housing unit is designed to build on Salisbury's arts community, and it's expected to bring about 150 people to the downtown area.

"The owner also has asked for a logo design from a local artist in the community -- maybe try and get them involved in some of the aesthetics of the building. Right now we're putting in mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough ends, and we'll be doing drywall by first week of August," site manager Phillip Lovell said.

For information on the application process, call 443-716-2576.
