Ocean City Drawbridge Closed To Marine Traffic For 1 Hour Saturday

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Those heading to Ocean City to view fireworks on Saturday, won't have to worry about getting caught in open drawbridge traffic.

The Maryland State Highway Administration says on July 5th, they will be keeping the US 50 Harry W. Kelley drawbridge closed to boat traffic for an additional hour. So on Saturday, the drawbridge will not open from 10:00 to 11:00 PM. The bridge will operate under its normal summer schedule during all other times.

The closure is reportedly meant to help alleviate some of the traffic that usually comes after the City's fireworks displays. Town Officials postponed the fireworks until Saturday, due to inclement weather.
