WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - After the fifth try, officials with NASA's Wallops Flight Facility say the Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket launched Wednesday morning, but the flight reportedly ended prematurely.

Officials tell 47 ABC there was an issue with the second stage Improved Malemute motor. There were no injuries or property damage. The rocket reportedly landed in an established hazard zone in the Atlantic Ocean, which officials say was cleared prior to launch.

According to reports, the flight anomaly happened roughly 19 seconds after launch, at a altitude of 27,000 feet.

An investigation into the issue is ongoing.
