NEW YORK - One of the two Ocean City brothers indicted in the so-called East Coast cigarette smuggling ring, pleaded guilty to enterprise corruption.

Forty one-year-old Samir Ramadan now faces up to six years behind bars. Last summer, he and his brother, 43-year-old Basel Ramadan were arrested for their reported involvement in a multi-million dollar cigarette smuggling operation that reportedly stretched from Virginia to New York.

Basel Ramadan, the so-called the ring-leader, is also being charged for allegedly making phone calls from jail in an attempt to kill witnesses. A preliminary trial for him is set for October.

Several other co-conspirators in this case have already pleaded guilty.
