UPDATE: Rocket Launch From Wallops Flight Facility Postponed

Posted: Updated:

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - Officials at Wallops Island Flight Facility say the SubTec-6 rocket launch scheduled for today has been postponed again.

According to reports, the launch was expected to take place between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Saturday, but was scrubbed due to boats in the hazard area. The technologies being tested during the launch reportedly include a deployment system for forming vapor clouds that help track winds and improvements in telemetry. Officials say the launch was also planned to test flight recorders to increase the rates for data collected and transferred during flight.

Reports say the next launch attempt is tomorrow, Monday, June 30th with a launch window from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM. To view ustream coverage of the mission, visit the Wallops Island website.
