Shorebirds Manager Ryan Minors Rise to the Top

Posted: Updated:

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds manger Ryan Minor knows a thing or two about what it takes to succeed in sports. Minor history with athletics began as a player, where he was a two sport standout at Oklahoma.

During his time there, he earned the Big 8 Player of the Year for basketball, and was a instrumental part of the Sooners baseball National Championship team. Following his senior season, Minor was drafted in the MLB draft, as well as the NBA draft and had to choose which sport to pursue.

He decided on Baseball, and soon went to work in their minor league program. That road lead him to the Shorebirds, where he helped lead them to their only Championship season. Soon there after, he began getting called up, and eventually earned a start with the Orioles. After four seasons in the bigs, he eventually retired from playing in 2006. He then decided to pursue a career in coaching that eventually lead to him earning a manager position.
