UPDATE: Trooper Released From Hospital After Magnolia Shooting

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - The Trooper who was injured in a shooting in Magnolia earlier this week, has been released from the hospital.

Delaware State Police say Corporal Lloyd M. McCann was released from Christiana Hospital Trauma Center on Thursday evening. He is now reportedly resting comfortably at home, with his family. He is apparently doing well and in good spirits.

McCann was shot in the face and hand on Wednesday, during a shootout with 29-year-old Dennis Hicks of Milford, in the Linkside development. Hicks died at the hospital after the incident.

The Delaware State Police, along with Corporal McCann's family, wanted to thank the community for all the support, along with the thoughts and prayers that came after the shooting.
