Parade On Sunday To Shut Down Easton Roadways

EASTON, Md. - A community event in Easton on Sunday, will reroute drivers. The Easton Police Department says on June 29th at 3:00 PM, the Samuel T. Hemsley Elk's Lodge is hosting their yearly parade, on the Westside of town.

The parade starts at the Easton Elementary School, and continues on Jowite Street, to Port Street, to South Washington Street, to Glenwood Avenue, and wrapping up on Pleasant Alley. Once the parade is over, the following roads will stay closed until 11:00 PM, with no vehicular traffic permitted.

Glenwood Ave. (between South Washington St. and Pleasant Alley), West St. (between Vine St. and Glenwood Ave.), Port St. (between Clay St. and South Washington St.) and South St. (between South Washington St. and Hanson St.) Police say there will be no parking along the parade route, starting at 1:00 PM.

Officials are asking drivers to take alternate routes through Easton, and practice patience, and use caution.
