One Arrested In Rash Of Thefts From Vehicles In Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A Cambridge man has been arrested, after Police say they connected him to a series of thefts from vehicles.

Cambridge Police say over the past several weeks, they have been investigating a rash thefts from vehicles in the area of West End, Water Street and East Cambridge. That investigation led Offices to run surveillance in the area, in an attempt to find the suspect.

On Tuesday, around 1:30 AM, a Detective on surveillance reportedly found the suspect on Crusader Road, going onto a parked vehicle. Police say additional Officers responded, and which the suspect attempted to flee, and assaulted an Officer.

According to the report, Officers caught up with suspect, identified as 27-year-old Rymarr Rideout, and charged him with 2nd degree assault on a police officer, theft, rouge and vagabond, and resisting arrest, with additional charges expected. Rideout is currently being held on $40,000 bond.
