Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Classes at a local college campus were cancelled on Tuesday night, after a bomb threat was reportedly called in. Georgetown Police say around 2:50 PM, they responded to Delaware Technical and Community College - Owens Campus after a bomb threat was called in.

According to the report, the caller didn't say where the bomb supposedly was, and due to the limited information, the campus was evacuated for the safety of students and facility. Police say they brought in several bomb sniffing dogs to sweep the campus for explosives.

The dogs apparently alerted several times to one trash can in the William Carter building, but The Delaware State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit reportedly didn't find any explosive devices. Police say all of the buildings were checked by the bomb sniffing dogs, and no other alerts were found.

The campus was given the all clear around 7:45 PM. The investigation into the unknown caller is reportedly continuing at this time.

University officials say daytime and nighttime classes were canceled after the bomb threat was reported. Officials at the Wilmington University campus in Georgetown say they also canceled nighttime classes.
