FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society is pleased to welcome Patricia Coyle Zeiler as their new Executive Director.

"With more than 15 years of nonprofit management experience, Patricia brings a wealth of knowledge to the Society – we are so excited to have her join our team," said Barbara H. Jones, President of the Board of Trustees.

Prior to joining the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, Zeiler served as the Executive Director of the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association, the nonprofit organization that administers the Sun Trolley.

During her five year tenure with Sun Trolley, Patricia is credited with; bringing in more than $1.8 million in corporate sponsorships, grants and advertising, increasing ridership from 18,000 passengers per month to an average of 40,000 passengers per month, and spearheading the launch of Sun Trolley's Tracker App which has earned national media attention and surpassed 10,000 downloads in its first year.

Patricia Coyle Zeiler started her work with the Society on June 2, 2014 following the retirement of Bonnie Flynn. Flynn served as Executive Director of the Historical Society for two years.
