Heat wave Doesn't Deter Delmar Football Camp

Posted: Updated:

Delmar, DE - The Delmar football team hosted their summer football camp this week, finishing this afternoon.

Around 50 kids showed up to work with Wildcats players and coaches on their skills and techniques with some of the best local talent.

While the kids knew they would be challenged with drills, they didn't expect to have to work through a record breaking heat wave. The temperature this week was over 10 degrees hotter than on average for this time of year, and the mid 90 degree days made for difficult conditions to play through.

The players brought extra water to deal with it, while the camp directors set up water stations, allowed for the kids to go into air conditioned rooms when they needed to, as well as turned on the irrigation system the final day for the kids to play in.
