SALISBURY, Md. - Fire Fighters in Salisbury were battling a house fire in Wicomico County early Thursday morning.

Officials with the Salisbury Fire Department say the blaze took around 20 minutes to contain after it broke out around 3:20 AM on Old Quantico Road in Salisbury.

Assistant Chief Bryan Records tells 47 ABC there were no injuries but a dog did have to be rescued and revived. There were four adults and one infant in the single dwelling home at the time of the fire and all made it out alive. Officials say two adults, who were asleep on the second floor of the home, jumped from a rear balcony to escape the flames.

Assistant Chief Records says the fire originated in the rear of the home and the cause is reportedly unattended cooking equipment. Damages are estimated to total around $12,000.

The family is now being assisted by the American Red Cross Delmarva Region, by providing the family with food, infant supplies, and a safe place to stay.
