UPDATE: No Foul Play Suspected In City Park Body Investigation

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Preliminary autopsy results are back, after the body of a 25-year-old Salisbury man was found floating in a local river.

Salisbury Police say on Tuesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Rodney Stevenson. Officials say those results showed the cause of death as drowning, and that there was no injury to his head, as initially reported.

At this time, the toxicology reports are still pending, and a full autopsy report isn't expected to be released for several weeks. Investigators say at this point in the investigation, there are no signs of foul play associated with Stevenson's death.

Stevenson's body was found floating in the water in the Salisbury City Park, just after 9:00 AM on Monday, close to the footbridge near Snow Hill Road and East Main Street. The victim had reportedly left his Ohio Avenue home around 8:30 AM that morning, to head to East Main Street and Mount Hermon Road.
