DAGSBORO, Del. - A logging truck in Dagsboro, reportedly pulled down numerous power lines on Tuesday. Delaware State Police say around 10:50 AM, they received a call about wires across the road near Route 113 at 9 Foot Road.

An investigation reportedly revealed that 52-year-old Sherwood Cottman, of Eden, MD, was driving a 1998 Mack Truck, with a trailer loaded with logs, Southbound on Route 113. Police say as the truck came up to 9 Foot Road, one of the logs caught some wires, and started pulling power poles down. According to the report, the truck stopped on the shoulder, but not before it took down three utility poles, and lost a log.

Cottman was reportedly not injured in the incident, and was cited for an oversized load.

Route 113 was closed from 9 Foot Road to Swamp Road for a little while, while crews worked to clear the wires and poles. One Northbound land remained closed for around six hours, during which utility and phone crews worked to repair the damaged equipment.
