High School 7 on 7 Expo Shows Just How Close Football Season Is

Posted: Updated:

Delmar, DE.- Although the high school football season is eight weeks and some change away, you can feel it in the air.

Players from local area schools such as Wi-Hi, Parkside, James M. Bennett, and Cambridge joined host Delmar High School to put in some very early, but welcomed preseason work.

"Oh its great for these guys, you know there just finishing school, and it gives them a chance to get their energy out" said Allen Mitchell, assistant coach at Parkside High School. "Its good to get that bond going right now, I mean it kinda shows the change of things, when I was in high school we didn't have 7 on 7, but these guys love being out here and are a full-go."

The expo was deemed as "nothing serious" by most coaches, but their players thought different. Tony Hayward, JMB linebacker said of the expo,"Its a real opportunity out here now to get our offense and defense together early, so it can be on one accord when the season starts".

With the summer just kicking off and the season still seemingly forever away, these kids clearly cannot wait, to kick this 2014 season off.
