Jolly Roger Amusement Park Celebrates 50 Years

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Jolly Roger Amusement Park celebrated 50 years of family fun with a special ceremony Tuesday. Founder and owner Buddy Jenkins was presented with a key to the city.

In 1964, the park opened as Arnold Palmer Miniature Golf Course and Driving Range. Through the years, it's developed into a full-scale amusement park!

Jenkins says the key to his success, is to pay attention to the public.

"There will always be change --always constant. The biggest thing we've done is kept our eye on the public. The public! How can we make it better for the public? Every day we have a staff meeting and every day that question is answered. How can we do it better?" he said.

In July, the park is expected to open a circus event to cater to the younger crowds.
