NEW YORK, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Neuman's Kitchen is proud to announce its recent victory for Best Catered Event at the 2014 ISES Big Apple Awards. Each year, the ISES (International Special Events Society) Big Apple Awards recognize the best corporate catered event, best social event and 12 other categories of events in NYC. Neuman's Kitchen received the 2014 Big Apple Award for Best Catered Event with the "Color Invasion" Vintage Circus themed occasion.
The Big Apple Awards are handed out each year based on excellence in food preparation, presentation, service and event planning. Each year, nominees are invited to submit menus, examples of how the caterer integrated food and decor, and other details concerning wait staff uniforms, place settings and more.
The award-winning event by Neuman's Kitchen, "Color Invasion," was an annual get-together for the International Interior Design Association. The theme for the exciting evening was "vintage circus," and Neuman's Kitchen transformed various floors at Center 548 in NYC into a classic over-the-top circus event. Over 1200 guests were greeted with a "dress-up" station at registration, allowing them to dress the part – animal masks, clown make-up, and wigs, plus actors performing on stilts for photo ops.
Once guests made their way to the 3rd floor they were greeted to a Midway-inspired eating area consisting of circus games, picnic tables, hay bales, popcorn machines and playful food stations manned by Neuman's Kitchen wait staff, all of whom dressed as performers, such as strong men, bearded ladies and tutu showgirls. From giant pretzels, chili hot dogs with a wealth of hot sauce options, Juggler's Balls bite-sized meatballs and "adult" tater-tots, the food selection offered something for everyone. One floor up, a full Big Top setup gave guests an opportunity to relax and indulge among costumed performers.
Manhattan's Neuman's Kitchen has been combining art, food and commerce to the delight of New York City party-goers for more than 30 years. Paul Neuman, owner and founder, has been on the ISES board for four years and held the VP position of programs and education upon joining.
