Cambridge Salvation Army Looks To Expand Homeless Shelter

Posted: Updated:

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Almost a year after a tragic fire ripped through their thrift store, the Cambridge Salvation Army has some better news.

Officials tell 47 ABC, they have plans to break ground on an expansion of their homeless shelter in the next few weeks, which will reportedly expand the number of beds from 9 to 24.

While the fire forced them to open a new location on Route 50, officials say the change has been a bigger benefit to the community, with better access and parking.
