BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit says they are currently investigating a head-on crash that occurred earlier this afternoon leaving one person dead and four others injured.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 11:00 AM as Justin E. Fuller, 18 of Mt. Airy, MD was operating a 2001 Dodge Durango westbound on Seashore Highway (SR18/404) just east of Oak Road. At the same time, Frank R. Tallent, 49 of Georgetown, was reportedly operating a 1988 Ford F150 pick-up truck eastbound on Seashore Highway, when for an unknown reason, the Durango crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the pick-up head-on.  After impact, both vehicles reportedly remained in the eastbound lanes.

Police say Justin Fuller and a 17-year-old Mt. Airy, MD male seated in the front passenger seat, were properly restrained and transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released with minor injuries.  An 18-year-old male from Mt. Airy, MD who was properly restrained in the rear seat of the Durango was reportedly initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say Frank Tallent, who was not properly restrained, was initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.  His wife, Carolyn A. Tallent, 53 of Georgetown, was reportedly not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  SR18/404 between Oak Road and Chaplins Chapel Road was reportedly closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
