Tech Gifts For Dads And Grads

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Gift season isn't just in the winter. This time of year, plenty of folks are looking for the perfect presents for grads and Dads.

But, what to get is the question on many minds.

"They're a little bit picky, more picky than women," said Dawn Jones of Selbyville, Del. And even some dads are stumped.

"I have no idea," said Jim Lieb of Salisbury.

The answer for the man who has everything from ties to tools, could be in the electronics department.

That's where to find noise canceling headsets, a perfect gift for Lieb, who's looking for some "quiet time."

"Some of them are coming with stereo with both in the ear so you get that full rich [sound]," said John Theis of Best Buy in Salisbury.

And there are new twists on old favorites, like a high-tech razor.

"This is a 3D where it pivots, it moves all around so it really contours to the mans face now," Theis explains.

And this one isn't just for Dads - grads might need a clean shave too.

"Yeah, definitely for those job interviews," Theis said.

For those connected to cell phones and tablets, loosing power could be devastating. GPS, music, phone calls - gone until you find an outlet. But, a portable power source could save the day.

"You can charge your cell phone up to four times," Theis said. "Or, you can also use it to charge up to two tablets as well."

And once students cross the stage, new features on Go-Pro cameras can help capture those special moments ahead.

"If they have it attached to their hat, and they throw it in the air, they can capture that whole experience as it's flying through the air" Theis said.

It's an interesting thought, but some say there's only one gift they really want.

"Money right? Money is the main thing," Jones said. "It's what kids want now a days," added Chris Walston of Salisbury.

And you don't have to be a tech wiz to figure that out.
