Local Man, Paralyzed, "Feels Changes" 3 Months After Car Accident

Posted: Updated:

PARSONSBURG, Md. - Back in March, we first told you about Trey Cantwell, an aspiring musician who became paralyzed after a car he was traveling in hit a patch of ice.

Fast forward three months and Trey is back at home, making tremendous strides. He's able to move around in his motorized wheelchair and starting to get more feeling in his hands and some tingling in toes.

The ramp, Trey says, was donated by Gladden Construction. He says he's gotten some help from friends and family with buying a wheelchair accessible van.

As for his rehab?

"When you're doing it everyday, it kind of seems slow to you but when you got people you don't even know coming up saying, "wow, you look great you're doing so much better," it makes you want to push even more," said Trey Cantwell. "I can definitely see the changes from then until now."

Trey is working on his movement with his legs on an Electrical Stimulation Bike, which shocks his muscles into peddling. All the progress he says comes from the constant support from family and friends, even strangers.

If you would like to offer support to Trey, you can reach him through his Facebook page, "Trey Will Walk". The page continues to show his progress with his health and upcoming benefits.

Also, his family set up a fund to help with medical expenses:
